What would have happened if the junction was just removedIt could have been made just a simple cycleway, four metres wide, with a simple bollard in the middle. It could have had lots more green space; a few additional trees planted, perhaps a park bench or two for people to sit on.Flaws in road safety laws need to be flagged upThe rest of the street would then be returned to being the primarily residential street it should be, rather than the rat run status it currently enjoys.In fact, while the road was closed, I did check every day for letters from angry residents of this street, and the adjoining streets, complaining about having to drive an extra few hundred metres to get to the shops. But I didn't see a single one.I suggest that the next time we have a road junction closure, we just close the road, put up all the road work signs and then ask the contractors to go and do something much more important instead, like fixing potholes.Do you think it's a good idea to close junct
